V-Seal was tested on 1500 level in South 3 haulage, in an area that was not initially supported with wire mesh, and the ground conditions required support work to be done.

A Glimpse Into Operations
CAA 32 V-Seal Application pump
CAA 32 V-Seal Application pump complete, capable of covering areas up to 300 m² @ 8mm per shift, providing material is available on-site, and you have sufficient compressed air available. We covered 56 m² @ 8mm in South 3 Haulage in approximately an hour and a half – We had to stop spraying due to loco’s passing by on 3 occasions.

Material being offloaded on site. V-Seal is packed into bulk bags for ease of transport. Each bulk bag contains 50 V-Seal kits which consist of 50 x 25kg powder mixture, and 50 bottles of Pseudo Plastic Polymer. A bulk bag weighs 1,5 tons. Each kit will cover approximately 1,2 m² @ 8mm thickness. In this demonstration we delivered 50 kits and covered an area of 56 m²
Rock Substrate Deterioration
In this example it can be clearly seen that the rock substrate deteriorate even if it is covered with steel mesh. Steel mesh does not prevent oxidation and weathering of rock, and over time, steel mesh tends to rust and loose its strength, especially in areas with a lot of humidity and moisture.
